Connecting the community through business collaborations and charitable outreach, the SW Idaho Business Alliance seeks to achieve its mission of promoting and enhancing commerce, strengthening our communities and relationships, and supporting and sponsoring charitable endeavors.  We are committed to integrating Commerce, Community, and Charity into a combined effort.  We recognize the necessity of assisting charitable endeavors, and the role that commerce and community play in the success of these endeavors.  Additionally, our leadership team acknowledges the need to provide a unified voice for business-related issues with a means to represent our members to local and regional decision-making entities.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

Our Values

Through loyalty to our focused charter, “Connecting the community through business collaborations and charitable outreach,” the SW Idaho Business Alliance seeks to achieve its mission of promoting and enhancing commerce, strengthening our communities and relationships, and supporting and sponsoring charitable endeavors.

We have confidence in our effort that these critical objectives will lead toward systemic change and actions that benefit Commerce, Community, and Charity, which will foster the economic development and improvement of lifestyle in the SW region of Idaho.

Our Code of Ethics

Respect and courtesy for the business entities we partner with, communities we work in, and charities we support. We believe in integrity and ethics in our actions, responsibility, and accountability for our decisions and their consequences, and finally, transparency in our operations. We’re committed to acting honestly, truthfully and with integrity in all our transactions and dealings. Avoiding conflicts of interest. Appropriately handling actual or apparent conflicts of interest in our relationships. Treating our members fairly. Treating every individual with dignity, courtesy, and respect. Being a good corporate organization and complying with both the spirit and the letter of the law. Acting responsibly toward the communities in which we work and for the benefit of the business organizations, communities, and charities that we serve. Being responsible, transparent and accountable for all our actions.

Meet Our Team

The SW Idaho Business Alliance is led by a volunteer Board of Directors.  Our leadership team is diverse, we have careers spanning many different industries, and each of us volunteers for other not-for-profit organizations.  We are a membership-based Idaho Non-Profit Corporation, with membership open to all Idaho registered businesses and entities.  Being a newly formed association, we can tailor our activities to meet the needs of our members, local business, community, and charities, while focusing on our Charter.  We invite and encourage other non-profit entities to partner with us in our quest to fulfill our objectives.  Together, we all can achieve the much greater success that benefits our businesses, our communities, and our charities.

Greetings! I’m Mike Olsen, the President and founder of SW Idaho Business Alliance. I relocated to the Treasure Valley with my wife and two daughters in December 2012 and moved to Star in September 2016. We discovered the Treasure Valley several years ago and decided that this is where we wanted to continue to raise our children and enjoy the quality of life Idaho has to offer. We very much enjoy the community spirit and the cohesion of the local businesses here in Idaho. I’m a business owner, owning MQI Home Improvement LLC as well as Mike Olsen Photography LLC. My professional background has been general business management with a focus on operations, process improvement, customer retention, and team development in several industries. I have always envisioned building an organization where the focus is on helping others. I am excited about the possibilities and the leadership team we have in place. Our potential is unlimited.

I have been involved in several volunteer organizations here in Idaho. I serve on the Eagle Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Star Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as the Eagle Historic Preservation Commission. I have worked with the City of Eagle, the City of Star, Special Olympics Idaho, and I currently chair the City of Star Beautification and Community Relations Committee and have served on the West Valley Little League Board of Directors for five years. Additionally, I have been a volunteer consumer arbitrator for 23 years with the Better Business Bureau.
